Symmetry: Class Descriptions

All of our classes are "open" unless specified otherwise. This means that you may join a class at any time. Registration is not necessary.


Absolute Beginner Ballet Sessions:
Offered in two, six week sessions, introducing the art of ballet.

Basic Beginner Ballet: Solidifying the concepts from the absolute beginner session, the work will concentrate on quickening the pace of the class while reinforcing essential vocabulary.

Advanced Beginner Ballet : The concluding portion of the beginner series. Nine directions of classical ballet, head poistions, por de bras 1-3, simple turns at barre and center, simple to large jumps.

Beginner Intermediate Ballet: Further work expanding concepts of balance, turns and jumps. Performance quality is looked at.

Intermediate - Advanced Intermediate Ballet: In depth concentration of all turns at barre and center. Longer and more complicated phrases in a more "dancey" presentation.

Open Ballet: A tailor made class designed for the students at hand. Thorough barre and brisk center are a feature to this class.

Bale'ates® (Balay-ah-tees):
Combining the work of Joseph Pilates (mat series) and utilizing basic kinesiology to complement work in ballet class.

Beginner Pointe: A thorough understanding of ballet technique required. Introducing the art of point work. Instructor's permission for class required.
